The roots of Technocracy were conceived in 1998 when Steve and Phil fused their thoughts and sounds to forge a creative relationship. Phil had previously been a member of Torque, Vio-Lence and Machine Head. Mark, Chris, and Brian were recruited over the next year and a half to complete this talented line-up. The quintet set about combining furious guitars to digital sound in a hybrid of current European electronic music and the "East Bay" metal sound. Unlike many of Technocracy's counterparts, the band relies heavily on the use of more accessible melodic vocals, creating a commercially viable sound all their own.
The band's uniqueness has garnered immense attention in the Bay Area music scene… and well beyond. Phenomenal reviews around the world have created an overwhelmingly positive response, and have projected the increase of the band's fervent following. With Technocracy's exciting new rock-solid sound, they're gaining momentum every day. While the band has been drawing crowds into packed venues as a frequent headlining act, they have worked feverishly at improving their live shows by adding a fully integrated light show allowing the band to pull off a theatre sized performance at any club they play.
Over the last six months, Technocracy has been branching out musically and geographically. The band has been writing constantly while still promoting their first release, playing shows on a regular basis, and rehearsing their melodically accessible metal sound.
