EVEN VAST are an emotional and gloomy gothic-doom metal band that remind us that Italy has more to offer than epic-power-speed metal. EVEN VAST overcome the boundaries of the Gothic Metal-style with a instinctive combination of impertinence and sensuality. The latter trait highlighted by the vocal delivery of ANTONIETTA SCILIPOTI, the lovely female lead singer who dares to be different by avoiding the genre-typical soprano delivery. She chants eternally haunting melodies on a foundation of fat-riff guitars played by LUCA MARTELLO and ethereal keyboards which she strokes herself. Fans of THE GATHERING will adore EVEN VAST.

In 1992 LUCA MARTELLO and ANTONIETTA SCILIPOTI, bursting at the seams of experience harvested from respective adventures in previous bands, decided to form CHAOS AND TECHNOCRACY, a new group, in which they assimilated a wide variety of metal influences. The result was quite innovative at the time, as was a female lead-vocalist fronting a metal band. By 1997 a few records had been released, an underground following established, and they had also ventured outside the borders of their native Italy, touring Germany and Austria. In the end, after innumerable line-up changes the band finally packed it in by the end of that same year. Founding members ANTOINETTA and LUCA stuck together, re-invented themselves as EVEN VAST, and shortly afterwards recruited bass player DIEGO MANISCALO.

In the Summer of 1998 they travelled North to Holland, where at the BEAUFORT Recording Studios, they recorded HEAR ME OUT, their debut album. Eventually EVEN VAST signed a deal with BLACK LOTUS Records, the Athens, Greece, based label who subsequently released the disc in the Spring of ’99. Thanks to the efforts of BLACK LOTUS, slowly but surely EVEN VAST make a name for themselves, mainly across Southern Europe, and later in Germany and the Benelux, when respectively ARS METALLI (Germany) and PAINKILLER (Belgium) release HEAR ME OUT in these territories. In the end EVEN VAST opts to discontinue their relationship with BLACK LOTUS and prepares to record a second album exclusively for ARS METALLI. The German label however encounters some financial hardships in 2001, and EVEN VAST end up inking a production deal with the Belgian PAINKILLER RECORDS.

EVEN VAST then records the second album in the ONE VOICE Studios in Chivasso, Italy, with the mastering being done at POWERPLAY in Berlin, Germany. The result is OUTSLEEPING, a deep, dark, dramatic and different collection of music. Listen…it speaks for itself and also enjoy the bonus VIDEO track.
